In a tragic incident at the Kentucky State Fair on Wednesday morning, a 9-year-old child sustained injuries following the death of their horse during the highly anticipated World’s Championship Horse Show.

In a recent news release, it has been reported that a tragic incident occurred during the show, resulting in the death of a horse. The unfortunate incident occurred when the horse reared up, subsequently falling and ultimately losing its life.

According to the release, the rider underwent evaluation by on-site EMT’s and was subsequently transported to the hospital. Additionally, the horse was transported to Lexington for necropsy in order to determine the cause of death.

According to officials, the incident that occurred in horse show class 130 was deemed to be isolated. As per the official schedule of the World’s Championship Horse Show, class 130 was designated for “Equitation – Open Walk-Trot, Rider 9 Years Old.”

“This morning, we had an unfortunate incident where a horse passed away and a young rider was injured. We are thinking of the family at this time and are hoping for a speedy recovery for the rider,” The World’s Championship Horse Show wrote in a statement shared on Facebook.

The condition of the rider is unknown at the publication of this article.
